This comes at a time when the seat bearer and opposition leader Raila Odinga seems unwilling to let go and probably slip into dormant politics of complete retirement.
Actually, he has even worsened it by refurbishing himself and coming back stronger courtesy of his March 9, 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, after losing in the 2017 polls.
If he indeed has plans to take over, then Orengo has only one option to make it to the top, this being ceasing waiting to be handed the post and instead of taking it by force.
In the instance that he remains silent awaiting to be handed power or endorsed by Raila, he is very likely to suffer a situation where Raila passes it to his kin or children, leaving him miserable.
This will render him useless and a laughing stock, after being misused and later denied the slot which might actually go to a younger person who has done less for the nation and Raila.
To ensure that he avoids such a situation and ends up the winner, it would be better to defy Raila, establish his own party and begin mobilising people in that direction.
Even if it won't be fully successful, at least he will have some power and authority in his own quarters unlike now when he is serving right under the former Prime Minister.
But in the instance that the plan flops and he lands with a thud, that could be the end of his political career and might have it almost impossible recovering.
