A sombre mood engulfed a village in Ruiru, Kiambu County on Tuesday as residents and relatives laid to rest a family of three members who perished in a road accident.
The three, Peter Kimani, his wife Zipporah Kimani and their son David Gikonyo died in a car crash while travelling from Nairobi to Nakuru to attend a funeral.
The demise of the three came barely a month after their daughter died following a short illness shortly after her graduation.
Grace Wambui Kimani passed away on July 10, 2018.
The accident occurred at Kinungi near a Pefa Church on August 30 after the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a Subaru that is reported to have been overtaking.
According to the Nation, the Kinungi stretch was recently named as one of the worst roads in the country by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
Kimani and his wife died on the spot while their son passed away while receiving treatment in hospital.
Reacting to a post shared on Facebook by Citizen TV, Kenyans took time to send their messages of condolence to the family.
