Chief Justice David Maraga has explained why he is a happy man.
Maraga while speaking on Wednesday at Kisii School when President Uhuru Kenyatta met with opinion leaders drawn from Kisii and Nyamira Counties said he is happy because President Uhuru, DP Ruto and NASA leader Raila Odainga buried the hatchet and agreed to work together.
"Kenyans are at peace after Uhuru, Ruto and Raila agreed to work together. Do I really have a reason of not being happy? I'm happy as you can see today we are here with Uhuru, Ruto and Raila," he said.
Maraga appealed to the leaders to prioritize development and fight corruption.
"Kenyans wants to see the fruits of the unity between the three of you. Work hard to develop this country and ensure corruption comes to and end failure to which there will be no tangible development," he stated.
The CJ urged Gusii leaders to remain united and push for development.
"It is a privilege for Kisii to host the top leaders in this country commissioning development projects. It is a challenge to Gusii leaders that unity is important at all times," he added.
