In an interview with KTNs’ Point Blank, Kilonzo Junior said that Kibwana has done so well, adding that he will only soil his name if he enters the race for the presidency when that time comes.

He reminded the county boss that he is proud of him and would not want to see his good work going to ashes because of the race for power after President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and final term in power.

“Professor, you’ve done well, you’ve been awarded, carried the devolution mantra of transparency and accountability well. You don’t need to soil your reputation by getting into the murky presidential elections,” Kilonzo Junior said, as quoted by the Standard.

The remarks come after Kibwana reiterated his stand in the race for the presidency in 2022.

He has since dismissed claims that he endorsed Deputy President William for the post. This is after he asked other leaders in the race to succeed Uhuru not to underestimate DP William Ruto.

“Governor Kibwana has never endorsed Ruto’s candidature, if anything he already announced that he will offer himself for presidential elections in 2022, this he is doing in his own volition,” Edward Mwendwa, Kibwana’s Press Director was quoted by Capital FM News.
