Residents at KCC village in Naivasha have been left in shock after a businessman allegedly stabbed and killed his friend in one of the estates.
The businessman who fled the scene is said to have stabbed the 24-year-old man in the stomach following an argument.
James Kefa, a witness said the death came in the most unlikely circumstance considering that the two were friends and had been drinking together before the incident.
Kefa said during the Thursday evening incident, an argument arose and they were attracted to the scene by screams from a group of women who witnessed the businessman stabbing his friend.
The witness said they got the man into a taxi and rushed him to a nearby Naivasha sub-county hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
“The victim was bleeding profusely from the stomach where he had been stabbed and died on the way as the suspect fled from the scene and is yet to be arrested,” Kefa said as quoted by the Standard.
Angry residents later stormed the suspect’s bar and looted all liquor before the police moved in to contain the situation.
Naivasha police boss Samuel Waweru who confirmed the incident said they have launched a manhunt on the suspect.
He added that investigation into the incident has begun as it is not clear what led to the fight between the two.
