Elgeyo Marakwet County Senator Kipchumba Murkomen attacked nominated MP Maina Kamanda after his fight with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro at Gitui Catholic Church on Sunday.
Addressing the media on Sunday night, the Senate Leader of Majority called for the arrest of Maina Kamanda for various reasons.
First, he wants him arrested over his undecided stand in parliament.
“Someone is in charge of cohesion in parliament, but instead he is the division leader. (Mtu anasimamia cohesion kwa bunge, lakini he is a paradox because yeye dio anasimamia division). He is the chair of the cohesion committee, but he is perpetuating division," said Murkomen.
Secondly, Murkomen questioned Kamanda's appointment into the parliament as a nominated MP.
"He is nominated in parliament but he does not meet all categories of nomination in parliament. He is not a woman, he is not a person with a disability, he is not from a marginalized community, he is not a youth. So in the first place, he is in the office under abuse of power,” added Murkomen.
The senator goes ahead to attack Kamanda over the Sunday's clash with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
The two clashed over who should be the one to invite guests at Gitui Catholic Church, where there was a fundraiser.
After the clash, it is alleged that Nyoro incited youths to chase away Maina Kamanda and people who had accompanied him to the church.
