Radio Maisha presenter Mwende Macharia on Saturday morning took to her Instagram page where she paid tribute to her late mum.
The presenter posted an old photo of her mother, which she captioned with memories of her childhood.
The vocal presenter who hosts the 'Konnect' show alongside her colleague Clemo, said she got the picture from her cousin and went ahead to narrate how her mother at one time caned her using slippers.
"Look at Mama Mwende, my cousin @steve_kiseli send me this pic of my momma and I can't believe how much I have turned out like her in every way ❤️🤩🤩 Every time I think about her, I just smile, she was a woman and half, she had such great stories, anazitia chumvi, hearty infectious laughter, alafu sasa mimi mara kumi😂😂," read her message in part.
"She was also a great disciplinarian nakumbuka kuna time alinikimbiza tukazunguka ploti kadhaa na when she got me slippers ilitembea sana 😂😂 I miss her, 16 years later may the Lord rest her soul. Alikua hatari fire ❤️," added Macharia.
The mother of one, who is the founder of Champs foundation runs a girls' mentorship programme. She is also an MC and a self-empowerment speaker.
