There was drama at the late Rongo University student Sharon Otieno’s home on Sunday as her father chased away a man who tried to speak about her ‘dark’ past.
The man is said to be Sharon’s uncle, a brother to her mother, and the father was angry that an in-law was exposing her daughter.
The father pounced at the uncle as he was speaking and grabbed the microphone.
“I want everybody to know that Sharon was a married woman and she separated with her husband in January. The husband has never appeared in this home but we need him because Sharon will not be buried here due to our cultural beliefs,” said the uncle.
It is at this juncture that the father got irritated and pounced at the man forcing the area chief to intervene.
The chief saved the man from an angry crowd that had become restless booing the uncle.
Among those who were present during the drama was MPs Gladys Wanga, Rose Buyu, Janet Ong’era and Pamela Odhiambo.
