Police in Makueni have arrested a man accused of sodomising three boys in Mbooni West sub-county.
The man, a teacher, is said to have committed the act last year in July and went into hiding.
The incident was confirmed by Makueni Police Commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan who said that the man returned to the village two days ago and that's when the police nabbed him. He said the man was ambushed by police at his home at around 4am on Friday.
"You remember a teacher who sodomised three boys last year in Mbooni West, yes we have arrested him. He had gone into hiding and resurfaced just two days ago. With our intelligence, we were able to nab him," said Napeiyan on phone.
He said that on July 26 last year, it was reported that the man had sodomised one boy and after investigations began, two more came out to claim the same.
"The boys recorded statements and medical examination tests came out positive," he said.
He disclosed that the suspect will be arraigned in court on Monday.
"Tawa mobile law courts are having a sitting in Kalawa market so the suspect will stay in custody until Monday, "he said.
The national government in conjunction with Makueni County government and other non-governmental organisations have come together to ensure cases of defilement reduce in the county.
This is after the county recorded increased cases of defilement last year.
