In his candid speech, Orengo praised President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga for solving their differences, adding that the country is now enjoying relative peace.

But Orengo accused members of Jubilee party of risking the partnership between the duo, arguing that they are always in a campaign mood despite agreement to stop early campaigns.

“You, our commanders, have told us to put our arms down. The [National Super Alliance] brigade has done that. Please ask your troops to also keep quiet so that we can build one Kenya. Otherwise, the journey will be difficult," he said as quoted by the Nation.

He added, “You have said categorically that people should forget about 2022 because you want to build this nation to ensure inclusivity, which is becoming a reality. The agenda we have for 2022 is so substantive that all our energies should be put together. We know you mean well but in politics meaning well is not good enough."

Jubilee Party has split into two groups with one pushing for DP William Ruto's presidential bid while another one supporting the Handshake between President Uhuru and Raila.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who spoke after Orengo, maintained that 2022 politics should come later after fixing serious issues affecting Kenya.

"The time for politics will come. Let's fix Kenya first then play politics. We refuse to be divided; let's continue staying together," he said.
