Police are investigating an incident where a man is suspected of killing himself while in police custody.
The man reportedly committed suicide while being held at the Karagita Police Station in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
The incident reportedly happened on Monday night, while the deceased was the only one in the holding cells.
The incident was confirmed by Naivasha Deputy Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) John Kwasa.
He added that the suspect used his shoelaces to strangle himself and was found dead on Tuesday morning.
"He (suspect) was alone in the cell at the time of the incident, the police were shocked to find him dead in the morning," the police boss told the Wednesday Nation.
He was reportedly in trouble over accusations of involvement in domestic violence.
The paper had also established that the man had warned his wife that he would take his life if she did not drop the charges against him.
The suicide came a few hours after he attempted a similar act while being escorted to the police station.
