Former Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi has been admitted at the Nairobi Hospital where he is reportedly undergoing medical check-up.
This is the second time that the former president is being admitted at the hospital after he was rushed to the same facility almost two weeks ago.
Lee Njiru, who is Moi's long-serving Press Secretary, confirmed Moi's admission at the hospital.
He was however quick to add that the former president had been taken to the hospital for medical 'check up'.
"It is true [that] Mzee Moi went to Nairobi Hospital today (Monday) but it [was for] a routine medical check-up.” Lee Njiru stated as quoted by Nation.
Lee Njiru pointed out that it was advisable and prudent for people to go for medical check-up. It nonetheless remains unknown as to when Moi leave the facility.
“He is expected to go back home but that will be at the discretion of his personal physician; he will make the final decision,” he added.
It is further said that Moi was taken to hospital on Saturday after he developed breathing problems. He nevertheless showed improvement on Sunday after receiving treatment.
No official statement from the family has however been issued out in regard to the latest development.
