Suba North Member of Parliament Milly Odhiambo has joined other Kenyans in celebrating Eliud Kipchoge's historic win on Saturday.
The world marathon champion on Saturday became the first man in the world to run a full marathon under two hours.
In an interview on K24's Punchline show on Sunday, the lawmaker welcomed the win, saying Kipchoge should be celebrated following the achievement.
She proposed that Kenyans be given a public holiday to mark the win.
"We should have even had a public holiday to celebrate Eliud Kipchoge. I think he should be celebrated," she said.
The record was set in Vienna, Austria, in a race that was sponsored by INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a British national.
Kipchoge managed to finish the race within the anticipated time, clocking 1:59:40, in a race he had to complete under 1:59:59.
Present to cheer him in Vienna was among others, Deputy President William Ruto, and Uasin Gishu county boss Jackson Mandago.
The win was followed by messages of congratulation from local leaders, world leaders, and Kenyans as a whole.
