Controversial and deposed lawyer Miguna Miguna's attempt to return to Kenya suffered yet another setback on Tuesday evening after he was ejected from an Air France plane moments after boarding.

The Paris, France incidence was preceded by a similar one on Tuesday morning when Miguna was barred from boarding a Lufthansa flight in Frankfurt, Germany, on grounds of a red alert issued by the Kenyan government.

Miguna confirmed the latest effort by President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration to prevent him from landing in Kenya via his Twitter handle.

"Air France removed me from Flight AF0814 from Charles De Gaulle Airport to JKIA, which was about to take off. Despot Uhuru Kenyatta and Conman Raila Odinga are so afraid, cowardly, tyrannical and weak that they have sent RED ALERTS to all airlines. We shall never surrender," Miguna tweeted on Tuesday evening.

"We shall never surrender! It is just a matter of time but it is crystal clear that we will defeat these rascals and their tiny group of repressive, exploitative and looting cabals. Don't waver. Don't compromise. Don't flinch. We shall win," he added in a subsequent tweet.

The latest hurdle to hit Miguna's attempt to return to Kenya from Canada where he has been exiled for two years now is yet another confirmation that Uhuru is fully committed to ensuring that the self-styled general never set foot in Kenya, at least during his administration.

But why would the Uhuru-led Jubilee government be hellbent on blocking a single man with negligible political influence beyond social media platforms where he prides of the massive following, from coming to his motherland where he is undeniably a citizen by birth?

Below are three likely reasons;

1. Uhuru simply fears and loathes Miguna in equal measures

There is no doubt that Miguna is a fearless man and the ruling political elite knows he does not give a hoot about them and their positions of leadership. Since he was exiled in February 2018, Miguna has consistently maintained that Uhuru is in power 'illegitimately' and continues to call for his removal from office via hashtags like #DespotsMustFall and #RevolutionNow.

Whether it is such calls that the President fears, it remains to be seen, but what is evident is that Miguna must have earned his way into Uhuru's bad books through the bare-knuckle social media attacks he continues to unleash on him and his regime.

2. Uhuru does not respect the rule of law

Rule of law, in a nutshell, implies that every citizen is subject to the law and nobody including the highest authority is above it. However, this is not what we have seen of Uhuru and his government as regards to Miguna's efforts to return to Kenya.

The government continues to defy and disregard a raft of court orders that have cleared Miguna to return to the country.

3. Miguna's ego and lack of respect for authorities

It goes without saying that Miguna has also played a big role in his denial of return to Kenya. If you do not respect and recognize the same authorities you expect to clear you to enter the country, why then not wait wherever you are till there is a legitimate administration that can facilitate your entry?

Miguna with his inflated ego, at least some say that of him, must admit and recognize that Uhuru is the one in power and he can only enter Kenya at his own discretion as he has proved to him on many occasions.
