The Uasin Gishu county government under the leadership of Governor Jackson Mandago has announced 700 internships opportunities.

The internship will be for Degree, Diploma, and Certificate holders.

Those interested should apply via https://jobs.uasingishu.go.ke/internship on or before 27th May 2019.

The county will provide a monthly stipend of Sh13,500 for Degree holders, Sh11,500 for Diploma graduates, and Sh8,500 for Certificate holders.

The applicants for the 12-month internship are required to have a certificate of good conduct, and no previous work experience.

In a statement on his Facebook page, Mandago noted that the experience acquired from the internship will help graduates kick start their careers in various industries.

"The 2nd phase of County Government of Uasin Gishu paid internship programme is on, we are giving an opportunity to fresh 700 Degree, Diploma and Certificate graduates to get work experience in a real working environment as they earn a stipend for their up-keep.The practical work experience will enable the graduates get an easy transition to the job market.

"As I promised during my re-election campaign, my administration will mentor young people through work-based training and prepare them for job market or self-employment. I am upbeat that after finishing their internships will be absorbed at the local and international job markets," he posted on Facebook.
