Speaking in Kitui town on Thursday, Nguna asked Kalonzo to be firm and go for the top seat in 2022.

He said Kalonzo has been a running mate for along time with nothing to show for.

Nguna said the Wiper leader is experienced enough to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

"Kalonzo Musyoka should not disappoint us by agreeing to the idea of being someone's running mate in 2022, we want him as the president," Nguna said.

Nguna stated that Kalonzo has the experience and the country will be in good hands if he is elected in 2022.

"Kalonzo is what the country needs to fight corruption, unemployment and tribalism," he said.

Nguna said Kenyans have confidence in Kalonzo and will endorse him in 2022.

The MP asked the Wiper leader to reach out to other politicians and seek their support as he prepares to bid for 2022.

There are speculations that Kalonzo could team up with Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.

Kalonzo has hinted on working with other parties in his 2022 bid.

Last week, DP Ruto is said to have met a section of Kitui MPs where they discussed development projects.

The MPs who attended the meeting have denied claims that it focused on the 2022 presidential polls.
