Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has promised to deal with any group that will threaten the state of security during the Easter holiday.
Speaking on Thursday during a press brief at his office, Mutyambai assured the public that police will patrol different places to ensure that no crime is witnessed.
He reminded motorists to abide by traffic rules to avoid arrest.
The Police boss further said they are working with other agencies to ensure there is maximum security.
“We have police officers working together with National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officers to ensure Kenyans are safe on the roads,” said the IG, as quoted by Daily Nation.
In the past years, hundreds of citizens have been perishing in roads accidents.
The IG noted that 988 persons lost their lives last year in road accidents. 362 pedestrians were among those who died in accidents.
He also noted that there will be coordination among various units within the police to ensure there is safety during this period.
