Former Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo has taken his attacks to the elected leaders on their unnecessary laments they make on nation televisions all through.
The former legislator who lost in 2017 general elections to Elisha Odhiambo as the Member of Parliament for Gem said that the elected leaders should not be agents of laments on public televisions.
Speaking on Tuesday morning during the AmLive show at NTV, Midiwo affirmed that members of Parliament and other leaders should be accountable to the electorates for the money they receive for development.
"You (elected officials) cannot come on public television and lament and lament", said Midiwo adding the elected leaders should answer Kenyans what they do with their money.
"What are you doing with taxpayers' money?" added Jakoyo Midiwo.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party member asked the government to fast track the use of public funds as elected leaders tend to delay funding projects for their political gain.
Midiwo's assertions come at a time when the government has set out tough mechanisms on ensuring public funds are utilized on the stipulated purposes.
The government through the office of the Commission of Administrative Of Justice (CAJ), commonly known as the Ombudsman Kenya last month directed all departments, parastatals and county governments to lay down all public tenders awards for scrutiny and audit.
