A family in Kisii county is calling for justice after their son-in-law chopped off their daughter’s hand.
It is alleged that the 25-year-old husband reduced his partner to a perpetual social dependent in a fraction of some minutes.
Ednah Kemuma aged 21-year-old who is a mother of one child while speaking on Tuesday at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kemuma said she had differences with her husband before her arm cut off
“ I was from the market whee I had gone to buy vegetable on arrival my husband called me out of the house we had a brief argument before he descended on me with a sharp panga cutting off my left arm," said Kemuma.
The mother of the victim Josephine Mokeira condemned the act and petitioned the government to bring her rogue son-in-law to book.
"I request assistance from the government and well-wishers for my disabled daughter," she said.
Kisii county director of health services, Dr Geofrey Otomu who confirmed the incident said the victim was responding well to medication and was out of danger as the hospital continues with treatment.
"Let the young people seek advice on how to cope with marriage issues instead of taking the law into own hands," said Otomu.
