Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans after she bought mandazi for breakfast from a street vendor on Friday morning.
The county boss also took the opportunity to interact with the vendor who shared the challenges she undergoes in her business.
The first-term governor reiterated her commitment to supporting small scale traders and improving the business environment in the county,
"This morning on my way to the office I stopped by Kaveta bricks society to chat with traders. I also bought mandazi for my breakfast from Veronica Syengo, a gracious woman who shared with me first-hand challenges business like hers face. I endeavour to improve the business environment and support small scale businesses to thrive and grow which will, in turn, grow the local economy and create more jobs for our people," wrote Ngilu in a Facebook post.
