Despite the fact that President Uhuru Kenyatta fully supports the project, Ruto is yet to openly declare his stand on the initiative.

Last week, Ruto called for an honest debate on the document, adding that Kenyans should not be forced to support the content.

“We all want to debate the BBI report as Kenyans and find solutions to the challenges facing the country. We should focus on issues that benefit all of us,” he said.

On his Twitter account, TV host Tony Gachoka wondered about DP William Ruto's official position on BBI, arguing that he should come out and state his stand.

Gachoka said that Ruto's allies have often blasted the project, adding that it's high time Kenyans know his official position.

"Is William Ruto supporting the BBI ?or not ?half his supporters are saying reject BBI;the other half are accusing me of not saying DP was at Statehouse to receive the report with Uhuru & Raila? So Point Blank what is his position? asked Gachoka.

Despite his inconsistency on BBI report, Ruto was among those who turned up at State House on Tuesday to formally receive the report.

President Uhuru Kenyatta along with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga received the report, whose content will be made public on Wednesday at The Bomas of Kenya.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta today at State House, Nairobi received the Building Bridges Initiative report from the initiative's taskforce led by their Chairman Senator Yusuf Haji. Present were Deputy President Dr. @WilliamsRuto and former Prime Minister @RailaOdinga," State House tweeted.
