That is no different to Kakamega Homeboyz striker Allan Watende Wanga.

Having donned the jerseys of various clubs in Kenya, Angola, Azerbaijan, Sudan and Tanzania, Wanga can be termed as one of the most successful footballers in Kenya in the past ten or so years.

In an interview in Kisumu on Saturday, Wanga said that former Harambee Stars and Tusker FC Coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee is the man who had a great impact on his football career.

“In 2007 right from the village, Ghost Mulee met me for only 15 minutes and decided to sign me as a Tusker FC player. That season, I become the top scorer and we won the league,” recalled the former Harambee Stars forward.

“At the time, he was doubling up as Tusker and Harambee Stars Coach. I think less than one month after signing me to join Tusker, he called me to join the national team,” said Wanga, a native of Butere Constituency in Kakamega County.

He said that since then, Mulee has been following up and guiding him throughout his career.

Currently, Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee is Radio Jambo’s morning Show Presenter alongside Gidi.

The veteran striker urged up-coming footballers to embrace hard work and discipline as a sure bet towards having longevity on the soccer field.

Wanga retired from international duty mid this year.
