A 28-year-old woman on Wednesday shocked many after giving birth to five babies at the Kakamega General Hospital, in Kakamega County.
Ms Everline Namukhuka who lives in Sikokhe Village in Navakholo Sub-County delivered the quadruplets through a caesarian section Wednesday morning.
The woman who was accompanied by her husband Herbert Wawire gave birth to two bouncing baby boys and three baby girls in the rather uncommon incident reports Citizen Digital.
She is now the mother of nine children having had four more earlier.
However, this is not the first of its kind in the nation after another woman from Homa Bay woman gave birth to quintuplets in two years back.
30-year-old Jacinta Akinyi Ochieng shocked the many when she gave birth to the babies on the seventh month of her pregnancy.
The babies weighed between 1.6 and 1.9 kilograms.
The same year, another woman gave birth to quadruplets in Kandara sub-county in Muranga County.
Lucy Wangari Muringi delivered the babies at the Gichanjiru Mission Hospital.
They were delivered through a successful caesarian section.
The exercise was covered by central government-sponsored the Linda Mama health program which has made a delivery for women free across the country as was reported by the People Daily.
