This means, local leaders aspiring to become Member of Parliament in Kitutu Chache North will continue being in the political cold because the current 'ageing' MP Jimmy Angwenyi insisted that no one is going to force him to retire.

According to the Jubilee MP who is serving his fifth term in Parliament, he is committed in serving his constituents.

"My opponents are not the ones who votes for me but, the electorates do. I am still willing and able to continue representing my people no matter what since my good development record sells me good to the people," said the 73-year-old MP.

Angwenyi said he has no plans to quit politics as his political rivals wants.

"I still have a few things to do for my constituents. It is sad for my opponents but, they have to accept the situation and move on," he noted.

The Jubilee lawmaker assured that he will ensure equal distribution of resources across the constituency throughout his tenure.

"No single cent will be wasted on 'ghost' projects. CDF funds will be shared transparently," he added.

He first joined parliament in 1996 after the death of then Gusii kingpin Zachary Onyonka and served uninterrupted until 2007 when he lost to Onyonka's son, Richard Onyonka. He bounced back in 2013 when Kitutu Chache was partitioned into North and South.
