Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi said police officers responsible for the killing of the matatu conductor should be brought to book.

"Security officers should protect people. Arrested suspects are not killed but, taken to court. It is high time the officers who arrested the matatu conductor and tortured him to death be brought to book," he said.

The Jubilee MP called on Interior Cabinet Secretary to break the silence on the killing of the matatu conductor and ensure the officers behind the death of the conductor are dealt with as by the rule of law.

"Matiang'i should act fast and order the arrest of the officers who killed the suspect they arrested," he noted.

Bonchari MP John Oyioka said police officers have turned to be murderers.

"Police are turning against innocent people. Our people should be protected whether in police cells or not," he said.

Steve Arika, Kisii based politician, said Matiang'i should not condone security officers to slaughter people they arrest claiming to be criminals.

"Police must fight criminals and not unarmed innocent people they arrest," said Arika.
