Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Nordin Haji has revealed that no compelling evidence has been brought forward in relation to the shooting of Idriss Muktar to link Governor Korane.
Speaking on Tuesday night on a Citizen TV interview, the DPP faulted those alleging bias in the assassination attempt probe, stating that he does not have evidence directly linking Korane to the incident despite being adversely mentioned.
DPP Haji desputed the allegations from the family of CEC Idris Mukhtar together with lawyer Kanjama saying he does not manufacture evidence.
“I cannot manufacture evidence, it has to come from the DCI who is the person in charge of investigations,” said DPP Haji as quoted by Citizen TV.
On claims that Governor Korane was his close friend, Haji approved of the reports saying he knew the county boss at a personal level.
In the evening of August 19, 2018, Idris Mukhtar, the former Finance executive, was shot on the head while on his way back home from evening prayers at a local Mosque.
Reports from his family indicate that he still in a coma.
