Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti has rubbished claims that his office is not supposed to investigate corruption cases.

Kinoti observes that the constitution empowers the National Police service to investigate all manner of crimes.

According to Kinoti, his office will continue to investigate corruption cases without fear and contradiction.

"We know our work as the national police service and we are going to do it fully because the constitution empowers us to investigate all manner of crimes," Kinoti told journalists on the sidelines of the Lamu Service week at the Mkunguni grounds.

Kinoti asked critics questioning him to read and interpret the constitution well.

The DCI vowed to continue probing graft cases.

He observed that he is working with other agencies closely on all cases including graft.

Kinoti said the war on corruption is unstoppable.

"No one is going to stop us from doing what Kenyan taxpayers are paying us to do," the DCI added.

The politicians want Kinoti to leave graft cases for the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
