Gedi, who is serving her second term in office, is also among experienced female politicians in the region.

The woman rep has been hitting news headlines since her re-election in the August 8, 2017, general election both for good and somehow controversial reasons.

In 2018, the vocal legislator was accused of allegedly bribing MPs to reject a report on contraband sugar.

Gedi denied the allegations terming them as malicious and a plot by her rivals to bring her down.

The bribery allegations is a matter now under investigation.

In December 2018, Gedi again hit headlines for controversial reasons after an unverified sex video allegedly involving her went viral.

She distanced herself from the sex video again blaming her political enemies for plotting her downfall.

The Wajir MP has since remained vocal, castigating corruption at the county administration.

Gedi claims that she is being fought for exposing graft at the county government.

She alleges that some county officials want to taint her political image and character.

Speaking in Wajir Town on Friday, Gedi vowed to expose corrupt officials.

"I will not be intimidated and urge relevant agencies to investigate massive graft at the county government,” she said.

The MP said that she is not afraid, adding that she has the support of the people.

A debate is now raging with claims that Gedi could be eyeing the Wajir governor's seat in the much awaited 2022 general election.

According to political analyst Peter Ngure, Gedi is among top female politicians to watch out in 2022.

"She is fearless and aggressive when it comes to politics and that is a good basis for her future political career,” Ngure said.

Gedi is, however, yet to hint on whether she will be contesting the Wajir governor seat in the 2022 general election.
