Murkomen who was making deliberations during the Senate session on the Mau Forest evictions saga had to clarify why he referred to Malala as Minority Leader and not Orengo.

Orengo took over as Senate Minority Leader following the ouster of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula from the position over his differences with NASA-allied Senators.

Murkomen who had wanted the day's Speaker Prof Kindiki Kithure to give him more time to deliberate on his argument said: "I know you gave Senator Malala two more minutes because he is the Minority Leader, so if I can ask for three more minutes because I am Majority Leader I will make my point."

But Kindiki interjected and told Murkomen to clarify why he had referred to Malala as Minority Leader well knowing that the Senate position is held by Orengo.

"I am not aware that Senator Malala is the Senate Minority Leader," Kindiki said before Murkomen quickly said: "He is the Deputy Minority Leader and therefore he is acting Minority Leader."

"I am not aware of that as well, but have your two minutes because we need to close this discussion," Kindiki said as he closed.

Murkomen has been at loggerheads with Orengo after Orengo recently called him a "stupid boy".
