Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has reacted after Manchester United bowed out of the UEFA Champions League in the quarter-finals.
The Red Devils were knocked out of Europe's biggest soccer competition by Barcelona after suffering a 3-0 defeat.
The Spanish giants were fired to the semi-finals after red-hot striker Lionel Messi scored a superb brace in the first half in a match played at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night.
Brazilian Philipe Coutinho was also on the score sheet in the crushing victory that ensured the Catalans booked a semi-final spot with either Liverpool or FC Porto (which play on Wednesday night).
Murkomen, a Manchester United diehard fan, appeared to put a brave face and expressed optimism that his team will "bounce back" next season.
"Barca was the better team. Congratulations. We shall bounce back because we are Champions League three-star generals," he tweeted referring to Man United's 1968, 2009 and 2008 UEFA victories.
The Elgeyo-Marakwet, however, expressed anger after senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi mocked the Red Devils after Coutinho netted the third goal on the 61st minute.
"The humiliation of Man Utd has officially started...with the 3rd goal," tweeted the lawyer who is an enthusiast of Arsenal FC.
In a quick response, Murkomen scolded at Abdullahi and reminded him that Arsenal has never won the prestigious trophy.
"Shut up! You don’t know how it feels to win Champions League!" the Senator posted.
