One of the highly successful Somali musicians Hamda Queen has announced that she has quit thethe music industry to preach Islam.
This is according to a social media statement by Radio Dalsan.
According to the vernacular FM station, Hamda decided to quit music following the recent announcement by another musician, Ahmed Biif, who has since switched from singing to teaching.
"Popular Hargeisa based Somali Musician Hamda Queen has announced that she has quit the music industry . This follows recent announcement by Musician Ahmed Biif that he had switched careers to become an Islamic teacher," revealed Dalsan Fm.
The local media house also reported that the songstress has sent a plea to her fans not to listen to her recorded songs, calling on the entire Muslim ummah to include her in their prayers.
Hamda Queen now becomes the latest Somali recording artiste to ditch music for Islamic religious education.
Just recently, a popular song-star Ahmed Biif went public that he had finally decided to quit the lucrative music industry to join an unnamed Islamic Institute in Somali to become a preacher.
All this, he said, was for the betterment of Islamic religion and culture.
