The riders led by their chairman Dominic Babu on Wednesday claimed that they are operating in fear because criminals are targeting them.

“On Monday, our colleague was attacked and robbed off his motorbike at 7:30 pm while ferrying a customer to Masimba.

"We want Matiang’i to move with speed and ensure police officers are working around the clock day and night to beef up security day and night,” he said.

Babu said police officers have until Monday to arrest criminals behind the theft of motorbikes failure to which the riders will hold a mother of all demonstrations.

Clinton Omambia, a boda boda rider said they have been operating at night but since insecurity has been on the rise, there is no rider who is ready to risk his life to operate at night.

However, area police boss Eliud Njeru assured the riders that police officers are working around the clock to flush out criminals.

Njeru urged riders to cooperate with police to weed out motorbike thieves from the area.
