Kisii County Senator Prof Sam Ongeri on Thursday attacked politicians opposed to President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts in the fight against corruption.
The ODM allied Senator while speaking in Kisii town after attending the building bridges public hearings forum said it is shameful for a section of politicians to oppose graft war.
"Corruption means our people will not enjoy the fruits of devolution because more funds will end up into some individuals pockets. My appeal to politicians whether in government or opposition is to be at the front line in the war against graft," he stated.
The senator slammed DP William Ruto for using his close allies to derail the fight against corruption.
"DP Ruto should know Kenyans want development which must be realised by proper utilisation of public funds. Politicians close to DP Ruto should stop fighting Uhuru in the graft war," he stated.
Prof Ongeri assured that he is among the several leaders supporting the war against corruption
He challenged Kisii Governor James Ongwae to ensure there are zero cases of corruption in the county.
"Ongwae needs to move with speed to seal loopholes being used by some people to loot public money," he added.
