Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has distanced himself from the ongoing 2022 succession politics in the county.
Speaking on Sunday he joined worshipers and other leaders for a church service at Nyagesa Lutheran church, Bomachoge Chache Sub County, Maangi said he has no time to play politics.
"It is too early to talk about succession politics in Kisii ahead of 2022 general elections because at the moment I am busy helping my boss Governor James Ongwae to serve the people of Kisii county," he noted.
The ODM deputy county boss insisted that local leaders in Kisii should keep off talking about 2022 politics.
Maangi who is eyeing to succeed Governor Ongwae further assured that Kisii residents will have access to good roads, proper healthcare, quality education for children throughout.
"Politicians should not dwell much on 2022 politics yet development has not been realized. I challenge local leaders to join Governor Ongwae and me to serve our people before engaging in 2022 politics," he noted.
The Deputy Governor also challenged politicians to continue working with other leaders to construct churches for locals to worship.
