K24 news anchor Betty Kyallo again came face to face with a question regarding her skin, this time round from gospel singer, Mercy Masika’s daughter.
The young girl, Ranice, wanted to know what happened to Kyallo’s skin, as the presenter was featuring her mum on the weekly Up-close Show.
“I have a question for you. What happened to your skin,” asked Ranice as her mum seemed to look on shocked. “Alright, so people ask me that question so many times. So what happened I got an accident. Some huge matatu ran over me sometimes back,” said Betty. “Ran over you? How? asked Mercy Masika. “How are you guys as a family starting to ask me questions?” responded Betty smiling.
The same question was brought up by comedian Jalang’o during an interview with the TV presenter in March this year.
“When you turned your hair, I saw the scar again. Beyond this beauty there’s outstanding scar on your neck. It is huge actually. What happened?” asked Jalang’o in a video shared on YouTube.
“You know when I was in form three in 2005, I was hit by a matatu there at Railways. I went under the matatu, it was still moving my face was rubbed on the road. So my whole left side of the face was ripped off,” Betty recalled.
She said she survived after going through seven surgeries.
