In a tweet on Saturday as Team Embrace held a rally in Mombasa, the nominated legislator called on all Kenyans to embrace the unity between veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

She called for love amongst the Kenyan people, saying that the country would only grow stronger through the unity of its people.

"Let's continue embracing the handshake. Let's connect with one another and love each other. Our strength as a nation comes in our unity. #EmbraceAtTononoka, " she tweeted.

Team Embrace, a political grouping of women leaders rallying behind the handshake, are expected to hold their rally in the Port City of Mombasa today (Saturday).

The group's coastal tour kicked off on Friday in Kilifi County with members saying that their overriding agenda is unity among Kenyans.

Other than throwing their weight behind the handshake and unity amongst Kenyans, Team Embrace members are expected to drum up support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

The group gave its recommendations to the committee, throwing its support behind the expansion of the executive with the positions being shared equally between men and women.

Inua Mama, another political grouping of women leaders, has accused Embrace of being disingenuous in its call for national unity.
