This will most likely open up the way for more visits into the region by his allies, most likely Deputy President William Ruto.

Ruto will be very keen on President Kenyatta's visit and might be the next one to head to Nyanza under the disguise of his development initiatives.

Should the Head of State, the man who until recently faced great rejection in the region receive a warm reception, then Ruto will consider it safe.

He will therefore head there, eyeing the Luo vote in his 2022 presidential  bid.

This will also enhance national cohesion and could eliminate the political rivalry that has for a long time been deemed to exist between Luos and members of the Kikuyu tribe.

Should Nyanza give the President a befitting reception, it will return the political trust that could as well see the two communities unite in the 2022 elections.

Finally, the president, will also leave behind a number of establishments and development initiatives that will benefit the region even after his exit from power.

Courtesy of the visit, he will have changed the lives of the people, and will forever be remembered, meaning that he will have indirectly achieved as he seeks to leave a legacy.

President Kenyatta will be accompanied by opposition leader Raila Odinga who doubles up as the Luo Nyanza political kingpin.
