A gang of armed robber shot dead Kamakwa chief Kimiti Nyuguto Thursday evening and fled.
Police sources said the armed boys killed the administrator at 6:30 pm.
Residents heard gunshots before it was discovered that the tough administrator had been left lifeless by the bullets.
Area MP confirmed the incident.
"I have just come from taking the body of my assistant chief from Gitathini Sub-location to the morgue after he was shot - at 6.30pm - by armed thugs on his farm. We really must stop this madness," MP Wambugu Ngunjiri said.
Area residents said the thugs were hellbent to eliminate the chief due to his demeanor in dealing with crime in the area.
"Police must bring the crooks to book. The assistant chief was hardworking, especially on criminal matters," Joy Warugi said.
