Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana's entry into the 2022 Presidential race is not likely to be good news to former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
Kibwana said he can give it a try in 2022 after he received endorsements from different factions.
The Wiper party's national chairman and Kalonzo will definitely share votes when that time comes.
The county boss is also likely to leave Wiper if his word is anything we can go by unless Kalonzo decides to back his candidature in 2022 polls.
Speaking during a conference organized by the Institute of Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in Mombasa on Wednesday, Kibwana said he is not afraid of trying his luck when that time comes.
“I wouldn’t mind contesting for the top seat (presidency) if 75 percent of you (accountants) agree to support me,” Kibwana said.
Kibwana's move comes after a section of social media users asked him to go for the seat in 2022.
Both Kibwana and Kalonzo have what it takes to rise to power but they cannot be on the ballot at the same time unless they want to lose terribly.
Kibwana needs to remember that only the development track record cannot make one president.
