Ailing Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth has registered massive improvement on his health, a colleague has revealed.
Kamukunji legislator Yusuf Hassan has disclosed that Okoth, who is battling stage four colorectal cancer, was responding well to treatment.
Hassan made the observation after visiting his colleague at Paris Cancer Centre, France, where he has been receiving treatment for a number of weeks now.
He reported that the Kibra MP was in a cheerful mood and high spirits in spite of the pain caused by the deadly disease which has also seen him develop metastasis disease of the liver.
"I visited and spent the weekend with my brother the MP for Kibra, Hon Ken Okoth, who is receiving treatment for cancer in Paris. In spite of the pain and suffering he has endured, I found him in a cheerful mood and high spirits," he posted on his official Twitter account.
The legislator went ahead and stated; "He is an extraordinary person with an incredible inner strength, a strong faith and fortitude. Please join me to wish Ken well and a speedy recovery."
The update came as a great encouragement and relief to many Kenyans who expressed shock recently after Okoth shared a photo showing that the cancer was taking heavy toll on him.
In a tweet that went viral, the MP disclosed how chemotherapy was affecting his skin and immune system but noted he was determined to defeat it.
"Napambana na hali yangu kabisa (I'm still fighting my condition). Chemo drugs brutal on the skin and immune system," Okoth tweeted two weeks ago.
