Residents of Nyakach constituency in Kisumu County have clashed on Twitter following former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale's endorsement of the victory of an MCA allied to the Ford Kenya party in the lakeside county.
Khalwale on Thursday in a tweet congratulated Nyakach Ward MCA Philomena Ojuok (Ford Kenya) following the decision by the court in Kisumu to endorse her victory after her rival petitioned the court challenging her election.
"Congratulations Hon Philomena Ojuok for your election petition victory in court today (Thursday). Ford Kenya has therefore retained the Nyakach Ward seat in the County Assembly of Kisumu," Khalwale tweeted.
But shortly after the tweet, residents of Nyakach reacted differently. Whereas others supported Khalwale, others told him off saying he should back-off following his gubernatorial contest loss during the August 8 general polls.
"Ford Kenya, a once vibrant and colossal party but now has just been reduced to a tribal outfit at the behest of tribal bigots. A moribund party that is inert and should be disbanded alongside KANU," said Tijey in his remark.
Another tweet came from McOginga who said : "Heheee you are shouting with a mere MCA post as if she has won the presidency, Central Ryakach residence will not tolerate that thief."
"It is a shame," tweeted Bring It On in his response.
Among those who supported Khalwale was Joachim Atenya who said: "We are simply congratulating one Philomena Ojuok for retaining Nyakach Ward seat under Ford Kenya. Let's continue being sober."
