Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny has yet again claimed that the political prowess of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is unimaginable, adding that he is a formidable force.
Mr Odinga has run unsuccessfully for State House four times and has cried foul of rigging in the last three presidential polls. The latest was in 2017 August.
And Mr Kutuny on Friday said it's difficult for President Uhuru Kenyatta to beat Raila without DP William Ruto's support, adding that it will be equally impossible for Ruto to beat Raila without Uhuru in 2022 should the former PM run.
"I have said before that politics is not a marriage where you are tolerant for one another because of children. In politics, you must be alert all the time. Those who don't like Uhuru are the ones sabotaging handshake.
"Uhuru is now working smoothly because of Raila. Raila is not easy man to beat. If Uhuru faces him without Ruto, he will lose. If Ruto faces him on ballot without Uhuru, he will also lose," said Kutuny.
With three months to 2022 polls, President Uhuru Kenyatta has steadily drifted from his deputy, and instead opted to work closely with Raila Odinga, a move that could sabotage Ruto's ambitions.
"My tongue is not not slippery. If Uhuru unites with Raila for an election, that will be a Tsunami, dangerous fireworks. I have been in politics for long and I can assure you that," said Kutuny, in a reference to Raila-Uhuru union.
Previously, President Uhuru Kenyatta has defended Raila from persistent jibes from DP Ruto, another indication that he's not ready to work with Ruto.
“We have just been talking about issues affecting our people. If its infrastructure, what do we need to do? We discuss and we support each other,” said the President as quoted by the Nation.
“We sit; we discuss; we agree. He (Mr Odinga) also gives me ideas that enhance something and make it even better. What is wrong with that?”
