Musician Akothee on Saturday won the hearts of many Nyamira county residents after she donated food to Turkana residents.
Akothee while donating the food to residents said; "Lodwar is the capital city of Turkana. We can't ignore the fact that we always have needy families around us; even in your village - especially the elderly, women and children. So, we can't just pass them (over) like that," she said.
Nyamira locals have praised Akothee terming her a hard working woman not only as a musician.
"Akothee is a good example who local Gusii musicians should embrace. She is a true woman who cares. Let us see also Gusii musicians coming out to held the needy in society," said Euniah Moraa.
James Monari lauded Akothee saying she is living her good life helping needy Kenyans.
"Akothee is a good example of musicians. It is important for able people like her to help those in need. It is a challenge for Gusii local musicians to also be at the front line helping the needy," said Morani.
Vincent Ariemo appealed to Gusii musicians to unite and support each other so that they can be able to carry out activities the same way Akothee is doing.
