Oyamo was arraigned before Justice Jessie Lessit at the Milimani Law Courts, but pleaded not guilty.

The prosecution led by Jacob Ondari termed him the main man in the cruel murder of the second year Medical Records student, who was as well heavily pregnant at the time.

The prosecution in an affidavit further opposed the defense’s application to have the accused released on bail.

“We have just been served by the Prosecution the affidavit and we ask for time to respond to the affidavit, we think that two days should be enough,” Oyamo’s lawyer was quoted by the Citizen Digital.

Oyamo was reportedly present at the point of abduction of Sharon and Nation reporter Barack Oduor in Rongo, Migori County, before Sharon was found dead two days later.

Oduor has since claimed that Oyamo changed the venue of a meeting they were supposed to have, ushering them into a car outside Graca Hotel, before it sped off.

He reportedly jumped off the car at Nyangweso Market along the Kisumu-Homabay Road, leaving Sharon with the assailants.

She was later found dead in Kodera Forest near Oyugis Town, Homabay County, with postmortem tests indicating that she was stabbed severally in the process of her murder.
