The talented lyricist who was bred in struggle of Kayole, a surburb in Nairobi, is a household name with a huge following on social media. 

He is on top of his game and making lots of money while at it. 

What scores of his followers don't know is that he once worked as a waiter and made chapatis at a hotel in Kayole.

In a video uploaded on YouTube about two months ago, the flamboyant rapper takes Rude boy, a Nigerian singer and former member of P Square,  on a tour of the area he was brought up in. 

The two go to a backstreet hotel and he explains to Rude Boy that he used to work there as a waiter and cooked chapatis too. 

"I used to work this kind of job as a waiter. I cooked chapatis, " he tells Rude Boy who is taken by surprise.

In the video Rude Boy hails Jones' hustle as real and an inspiration. 

Today,  Khaligraph lives a life of opulence, a far cry from the struggle he grappled with before he made his big break. 

He has released a string of songs that have received massive support from his adoring fans.
