Secretary Digital, Innovations and Diaspora Communications in the office of the President Dennis Itumbi has castigated ODM for falsely accusing Deputy President William Ruto of bribing one of the NASA affiliated parties to drop support for its respective candidate and support Jubilee's MacDonald Mariga.
In a tweet on Monday night, Itumbi claimed that ODM liked pointing fingers at their opponents as a diversionary tactic after being caught committing a crime.
He asserted that the truth of his sentiments will be known with time.
"When you hear @TheODMparty complain, it is them who are doing what they claim their opponents are doing. @Wetangulam how much did you decline from ODM? Ama ni @anc_party @MusaliaMudavadi ? Let's see the truth. (Wacha tuone ukweli)...," tweeted Itumbi.
He was responding to a tweet by the ODM director of elections Junet Mohammed who had noted that the DP was trying to buy support for Mariga in the forthcoming Kibra by-election from one of the NASA allied parties.
"The DP is negotiating with one of the NASA affiliate parties to step down their candidate For Mariga. The amount demanded is huge and hence the negotiations taking a bit long.. we shall update Kenyans when the deal is done. Transactional advisor @ahmednasirlaw how far...," read Junet's tweet.
Kibra by-election will be conducted next week on Thursday.
Political parties including ODM, Jubilee, ANC, Ford Kenya among others have fielded candidates to compete for the seat that fell vacant after the sitting MP Ken Okoth succumbed to cancer.
