The senator says that he has received grievances from residents about cartels who have hijacked the county leadership and are being awarded a majority of the tenders.

Speaking at his home in Kanduyi on Sunday, the Ford Kenya party leader added that the residents have accused him of keeping silent as things worsen in the county.

"The stories I am getting about my county are not good at all. Remember my party formed the government in this county (Bungoma) and we must make sure that our people get the services they deserve," he told the press.

He added that as the Ford Kenya party leader, which formed the county government, he will be reaching out to Members of the County Assembly for deliberations.

He said that the meeting will be followed by action, adding that the Senate is also investigating Wangamati's government over the loss of over Sh100 million.

"We cannot allow the governor to mismanage our county,” he added.

This comes amid a worsening relationship between Wetangula and Wangamati.
