Homa Bay County Director of Communications Juma Kaluoch was on Tuesday blasted for allegedly issuing a statement with horrible grammatical errors.
Mr Kaluoch on Monday issued a press statement informing residents about the discharge of Governor Cyprian Awiti from Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi where he was undergoing treatment.
Orange Democratic Movement Director of Communications Philip Etale was first to post the letter on Twitter, wondering if it was edited at all.
"@Disembe come see your people," wrote Mr Etale, who is a close ally of Raila Odinga, in response to the letter which has since gone viral.
And Etale's former deputy Seth Odongo alias Dikembe Disembe, blasted Mr Juma, claiming that he got the job for being a sycophant of Governor Awiti.
"Juma Kaluoch was just an illiterate vernacular radio reporter who fed his listeners with Awiti this Awiti that. Such is the sort of sycophancy that lands one a job in a County Communications Department. You don’t expect him to do more than this. He’s even tried. @EtalePhilip," he said.
On Monday, Awiti's son Mr Michael Awiti, confirmed that the second term governor was to be discharged later on that evening after weeks of undergoing medication.
Earlier this year, Mr Awiti travelled to Germany for eye treatment and he has been in and out of hospitals for close to two years now. He had temporarily handed over to Deputy Governor Hamilton Orata.
“We are currently undergoing the process of discharge and hopefully before the end of the day the governor will be out of hospital. He is okay,” his son told the Nation.
Businessman Erick Okeyo, who visit the governor in hospital on Sunday, said “he was jovial” and would be discharged.
“I was with him on Sunday and he was upbeat. He assured me he would be discharged soon,” said Mr Okeyo.
But Homa Bay Deputy Governor Hamilton Orata refused to comment on the governor’s health.
“Kindly speak to the doctors on matters of the governor’s health or his family members. I only deputise him at the county level,” said Mr Orata.
