Political commentator George Kithi has advised opposition leader Raila Odinga to prepare for more rejections from a section of Jubilee leaders opposed to his romance with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking on KBC English Service on Wednesday, Kithi claimed that a good number of leaders from the ruling side are not happy with his involvement in government operations.
He said that the former Prime Minister’s introduction into the equation, which was initially thought to be sealed until the 2032 general elections, has politically frightened some members.
He added that the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader’s deployment for international assignments has further thrown the party into limbo, causing anxiety among people who think he is not right for the responsibility.
‘’Anything new becomes suspicious and the introduction of Raila Odinga, which not part of the Jubilee norm that has been in existence, will face opposition from people who think he is being given the job wrongly,’’ noted Kithi.
‘’It will raise questions within the party on the fate of the people who should represent the head of state for foreign events,’’ he said.
The President is, however, yet to disclose the reason behind the turn of events, with the change likely to be emanating from the two leaders’ March 9 truce.
