Former Migosi ward representative aspirant Douglas Otieno Owila had placed his motorcycle logbook for the purpose, but would with time sell the same motorbike before the case ended.

The suspect is facing allegations of accidentally burning a neighbour's daughter with hot water, leading to the death of the victim.

Owila was on Wednesday arrested and remanded at the correctional facility after his relatives and friends had only managed to raise Ksh80, 000.

This is according to Citizen Digital through the e-daily.

This comes barely three years after the politician reportedly splashed Ksh1 million on his son's party, then one year old, in a function that was held at the Royal City Hotel.

The mega party was only attended by top figures in the lakeside city as the politician termed himself a CEO of his own company.

A month later, he was again in the news for allegedly being kicked out of his house for failing to pay a Ksh118, 000 rent debt.

The landlord also confiscated his sofa set seats and other documents.
